A Handful Of Dates
* The short story begins with a young boy who describes his grandfather that he adores the most, therefore considers him as a role model and mentor. He considers him as purity and related him to God. One day, their neighbour Masood had announced that he was going to harvest the dates from the bit of land he hadn't sold yet. At that moment the grandfather decided to go there as well to collect the money Masood owed him. Later on the grandchild, begins to grow hatred within him, because in Masood's helplessness, his grandfather had no pity and he was speaking rudely towards Masood. At the end, the grandchild felt, pain within his chest and ran to the side of the river bank and threw up the dates that he ate. That river once was deeply pure for him, and his grandfather however the depiction of the dates thrown into the river displays hatred that the grandchild now has for his grandfather. The hatred, that began to grow into the grandchild's heart. in your opinion, do you think that will become an issue in the future, as he builds as a person?
