"The Green Bird"- The Sun and the Moon

Ernest and Patrica were going to call Mrs. Rowan however went to her house with a surprise. When they reached her home they were acquainted. As Ernest stood by the door of Mrs. Rowan, a man servant in a white coat took his coat and Patricia’s and welcomed them inside. They talked chatted with Mrs.Rowan and she mentioned somewhere in their conversation about how she once heard Hitler, on the radio in a taxi. They chatted in the living room however later on they were escorted upstairs and served tea. Miss. Price poured the tea. Miss. Price had both of her legs cut off due to a car accident in the past therefore it was difficult for her to move around the room. They passed the cake stand around the room that consisted multiple snacks such as sandwiches as they chatted and drank tea. Ernest felt sick because the cup seemed dirty. However he lied and praised the tea trying not to hurt Mrs. Rowan's feelings . Before Ernest and Patricia prepared to leave, Mrs. Rowan offered him a book to take along. Miss. Price then wanted to give him a bird but there was only a green bird left and she disliked them. It didn't make a difference to Patricia because she liked them. They then left with a pleasant goodbye from Mrs.Rowan's home.

  2. In your opinion what do you think the book is about that Ms Rowan offered to Ernest. Is it a diary or just a random book?

  3. NO, i dont think it was a diary, i think it was justa random book, because Mrs. Rowan, enjoyed reading books, of different themes, and i suppose, she liked one particular book, therefore decided to give it to him. (i am guessing she is close to Ernest, therefore she gave him the book.)

  5. i think they mentioned Hitler, in the story is significant in two possible ways: EITHER
*the setting is close to the time of Hilter's take over during world war 2, in Europe.
    * or that (depending on her age) She was aware of Hilter, and what his actions were.

  8. Sarah : that is great ! :) and thank you

Navi|: some symbols that were used was the white coat for the man who answered the door, meaning class and peace within the home, and the book given to the man, resembles trust and appriciation.
